Mixed media installation

Kỳ in Sino-Vietnamese means "magnificence" but also connotes "weird" or "strange" in casual Vietnamese, reflecting the taboo. Through her experience as a woman growing up in Vietnam, Dai Trang explores the connection between the female body, nature, and social stigma. Using nature as a lens, she reveals the wonder of life within the human body, emphasising our intrinsic bond with the cosmos.

This immersive installation engages all five senses, inviting the audience to discover women's "stigma" as natural wonders. Metaphorical visuals like trees, butterflies, mountains, streams, and grass symbolise menstruation, pubic hair, and more, transforming societal taboos into celebrated natural phenomena.

The installation features five interactive artefacts, inviting the audience to peer through a lens and experience a new perspective. It’s like leaping into Wonderland, where the natural wonders of the human body unfolds before you.
